Making Space

June arrives with a certain clarity — long days, open windows, a natural exhale. This is the season of light, and with it comes the invitation to clear out what no longer serves… so what does can finally breathe.

Your June 2025 Alignment

We often think of decluttering as something we do with closets or drawers but the need for space goes much deeper. Our minds can get crowded with overthinking. The body holds onto tension we no longer need in expectation of the next effort. Our energy fields get sticky from other people’s moods, our own doubts, and the weight of the world.

Creating space isn’t just about decluttering; it’s about alignment with what we truly want. When we release what’s outdated or distracting, we open up to clarity, creativity, and deeper connection.

Spaciousness is one of the 3 Precious Pills and said to be the antidote to our constricted, rigid lives. Energetically, space is powerful. In chi gong and other energy practices, we cultivate space in the body between breaths, between movements in order to allow qi (life force) to move freely. Likewise, in meditation, we create space between thoughts. In healing, we create space between stimulus and response so that we can choose presence instead of habitual pattern.

This month, consider where you’re craving more space. Is it physical? Emotional? Digital? Energetic? Start small. One drawer. One boundary. One deep breath. The spaciousness you seek is already available, right here.

The space between things — that’s where Spirit lives.
~Traditional teaching from the Diné (Navajo) people

In the ultimate sense, there is no space between. Everything is the One Thing seemingly divided into the 10,000 things. But it is still helpful, as one of the 10,000 things, to pause and breathe. Feel into the in-between and anchor yourself there. That’s where your next becoming begins.

Why not try a Sacred Sweep?

This month, pick one small area in your home that feels cluttered. Even a single shelf will do. Before cleaning it, take three deep breaths. Acknowledge each object in that space. As you tidy, deciding what to keep and what to let go, even if it’s just the dust representative of stuck energy that has collected there. When you’re done, light a candle or place a flower there. Make it sacred. Let it mirror the fresh space you’re creating inside.
