Enlightenment is Simple

Surprised? Enlightenment may be simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

Humans tend to intricate things. We like complexity; it makes us feel accomplished if we conquer complicated things. And what a great tool for the ego to make convoluted what is threatening to its existence.

There’s really only one simple step to waking up to your True Nature. Are you ready? Got your notepad and pencil handy?

And the One Simple Step Is…

Stop identifying with the false self.

That’s it. That’s all it takes. Nail that and you’re free.

The False Self

I guess your question might be, what is the false self? You might not be ready for the answer. Take a deep breath!

It’s everything you think you are.

And I do mean EVERYTHING. So, while enlightenment itself requires only one thing, that one thing is a “many lifetimes” process. You might not believe in more than one lifetime, but you get the drift. It’s a long arduous road and in past ages, most do not succeed.

Identifying with our personhood is easy because it’s tempting, comfortable, and known. It’s hard to just let all the images and ideas go. That’s unsettling. It often feels impossible. For the ego, it is impossible.

If things aren’t sounding promising, no need to fret. Remember, it’s simple. One little step. Just keep walking the path with dedication. Earn your grace. Practice! Love the thought of being free of yourself. Use your tools. Work with a guide. And know that the more humans who can step through the veil, the easier it gets for others. We are, after all, connected.
